Coach Fernández Brings Catalonian Tradition of Sant Jordi’s Day to Brooklyn | Best of Brooklyn
Every April 23, Catalonia celebrates Sant Jordi’s Day. It is a tradition rooted in love, literature, and community. This year, Head Coach Jordi Fernández and his family brought that tradition to Brooklyn, visiting P.S. 1, P.S. 8, and the Brooklyn Nets offices to share the meaning behind the day. Students received books, roses, and bookmarks as part of the celebration - continuing a custom that dates back to 1926, where loved ones exchange stories and flowers.
